Two small earthquakes were recorded in northern parts of Oklahoma on Tuesday.
The first, a 3.0 magnitude, struck in Payne County six miles to the northeast of Stillwater, at 2:49 p.m. Its epicenter was located at a depth of three miles.
Then, at 7:11 p.m. a second earthquake rumbled in Grant County. The second quake measured at a 3.3 on the Richter scale and was located eight miles north, northwest of Medford at a depth of three miles.
No damage or injuries have been reported with either of this evening's earthquakes.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with earthquakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
