The Bartlesville Fire Department was one of three Oklahoma agencies to receive Fire Prevention and Safety grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
In a news release, FEMA said the department was awarded a $25,245 grant to pay for fire and arson investigation equipment.
FEMA says the money comes from its Firefighters Grant program. It says these grants support projects that enhance the safety of the public and protect firefighters from fire and related hazards.
The other two agencies were Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma City for $65,759 to pay for smoke alarms and fire extinguishers and the Oklahoma Assistive Technology Foundation for $282,679 to pay for a smoke alarm campaign.
