The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported the spill to the public Saturday afternoon but said they were not able to determine its origin. OHP turned the investigation over the Environmental Protection Agency.

In a follow-up with the Port Authority, News On 6 has learned that the EPA reports it is a minor spill that has not killed off any fish. Kimbra Scott of the Port Authority said that as of Sunday morning, there was a small sheen along the north bank of he marina in places, but it's believed the spill will dissipate on its own.

The Corps Environmental Officer will be reassessing the spill Monday to determine whether to deploy absorbent mats, Scott said.

"The spill did not originate from the facilities at the Port of Muskogee," she said in the update.
