TULSA, Oklahoma -

December 22, 2011, Peggy Gaytan was shot and killed while working at a Shell gas station at 36th and Harvard.

Police believe it was a robbery gone wrong, but no one has been arrested for the crime.

Three years later, people still remember Peggy and honor the grandmother with a big heart and even bigger laugh.

Peggy was a couple of weeks away from getting a different job, but on December 22nd, two men walked inside the gas station, put a gun to her head and murdered her.

They also keep a poster nearby to remind people of the facts of the case and leave a poster board so people can write messages of remembrance.

Linda was Peggy's best friend for 20 years.

"She was so bouncy, happy and she laughed all the time. Her laughter is what I hear in my mind, all the time. That, I miss. I miss talking to my friend," Linda said.

Jennifer is with the Sonoma-Midtown Neighborhood Association and said the people at your neighbor store become like family.

"It's a small store and the same people come in every single day to get what they need, myself included. We get to know everybody who works here, we know the owner, they're part of your community," said Jennifer.

Police said at least two men went in to rob the store, botched it and killed Peggy in the process.

They said it's the same men who robbed Tulsa's Ryan's convenience store just a few days earlier.

They have some suspects in mind, but are no closer to making an arrest.

While the questions remain and the investigation continues, Peggy's friends search for comfort.

"Our pastor said Sunday, he read a poem about those in heaven celebrating Christmas with Jesus, and that helped," said Linda.

Police need help to solve the case and ask anyone with information on what happened or who the suspects are, to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
