Pawnee Man Critically Injured In Rollover Wreck

Posted: Updated:

Accident investigators believe a Pawnee man was sleepy when he wrecked on State Highway 15 early Christmas morning. The single-vehicle wreck took place at 6:37 a.m. in Pawnee County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Russell Lee Hazlip was eastbound near County Road 34100 when his vehicle ran off the road, went through a fence and rolled three times. Hazlip, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle, a collision report states.

The 24-year-old man taken to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition. Troopers list the cause of the wreck as apparent sleepiness and believe Hazlip was otherwise in normal condition before the crash.
