Good Samaritan, Social Media Reunite Oklahoma Woman With Expensive Dental Item

A woman lost a valuable item at a Green Country fast food chain but has it back thanks to the kindness of strangers and the power of social media.

Donna Scott said she typically stops at Sonic to grab a snack, but her stop Thursday night didn't go as planned, when she threw something very important away.

“I still can't believe how this all came about anyways, I can't believe that I have it. I'm just so grateful,” Scott said with excitement.

She had just left the Sonic in Chouteau after grabbing a quick bite before heading to a night class in Tulsa, when she realized something was missing.

“So I usually get rid of extra trash and so it was nothing unusual until I went to school and I realized I didn't have my bridge," Scott said.

So after class she hurried back to the popular fast food chain, hoping her $700 removable bridge would be there.

“So she got a ladder, a step ladder, and she got in there are pulled those bags out and then the trash was all over the floor and we started digging through it and I got frustrated and I said ‘I'm done, thank you, but I just don't think it's here,'" Scott recalled of the employee that helped her look.

The employee that helped her, Teresa Miller, continued looking and eventually found the dental piece, but she didn't know Scott's name or contact information. Scott left frustrated and forgot to leave any information behind.

That didn't stop the Sonic employee. Miller contacted News On 6 and one of our web producers posted the find on our Facebook page.

"I get home and just so happen to get on my Facebook and there you guys are. I happen to have your page on my news feed and there it was, saying that she had found my bridge and I thought ‘Oh my God that's so crazy,' you know," Scott said.

It was a crazy find that she said would have never happened if it weren't for such a compassionate employee and the power of social media.

"She didn't have to do that, she could have given up too, but she didn't, and I'm really happy she didn't," Scott said.

Unfortunately, Miller was not working at the Sonic Friday and we were unable to reach her, but Scott said she is so very grateful for all of her help.
