Butter, salted 4 Tbsp
Sugar, granulated 2/3 C.
Strawberries, washed halved Approx. 2 C.
Cloves, whole (optional) 3 each
Grand Marnier 1 oz
Bacardi 151 Rum (optional) ½ oz
Cinnamon, ground 1 tsp
Vanilla Ice Cream 2 Large Scoops
Cut the butter into pieces. Wash and halve the strawberries. Pin the orange half with the cloves. Scoop the ice cream into glasses and freeze until needed.
Note***Make sure the glasses are tempered or crystal so that the temperature change doesn't break the glass.
Cooking: Heat a large heavy bottomed skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and stir to melt. Add the sugar and stir it in to begin dissolving. Add the strawberries. Squeeze the juice from the orange into the skillet and continue stirring. Add the whole orange into the skillet. Stir and increase the heat to medium high. Carefully add the liquors, if you have a gas stove you should do this away from the flame. Ignite the sauce immediately and using a shaker or a spoon sprinkle the cinnamon over the sauce. The cinnamon will spark and make a great display. Remove from the heat and let cool for a minute. Spoon the mixture over the frozen ice cream and enjoy!
