TULSA, Oklahoma -

Hundreds of Oklahomans are receiving free dental care in downtown Tulsa on Friday thanks to the 6th annual "Mission of Mercy" at the Cox Business Center.

Priscilla Berryhill was the first person to get in line Thursday waiting for free dental care.

"From 7:30 til about 5 I was standing outside," said Priscilla Berryhill.

At 5 p.m. Thursday she was allowed to come inside the center and wait to be seen the next morning.

Priscilla is a wife and mother of four. Everyone in her family has insurance, except her.

"They all have Sooner Care and Indian benefits, so I'm the only one who is uninsured and having insurance for just a single person is just way too much for us to be able to afford," said Priscilla Berryhill.

Priscilla says she usually uses her tax return to pay for care, but this year Priscilla is saving that money and getting some help here. The Mission of Mercy offers a variety of free services. There are no qualifications to get care, and all backgrounds are accepted.

"They can come in for cleanings, they can come in for fillings, extractions, root canals, oral health care instruction," said Dentist Dr. Matt Cohlmia.

Patients are seen on a first come, first served basis. Since Priscilla was first in line, she was able to get the three root canals she needs.

"It's awesome. I'm just glad they're able to do all three of them," said Priscilla Berryhill.

She says in total, she's receiving about $8,000 worth of work. A major expense she could not have afforded on her own.

Over the two day event organizers expect to help more than 2,000 people.
