The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a collision with a horse near Peggs Monday hurt a passenger in a car Monday morning.

Troopers said Ronald Velia, 42, of Hulbert was a passenger in a Honda driven by Harley Hayes, 22, also of Hulbert. The car was headed south on Highway 82 at about 6 a.m. when it struck the horse near County Road 650, according to the OHP.

A medical helicopter flew Velia to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition.
