TULSA, Oklahoma -

Strong winds caused damage and power outages in the Tulsa area late Wednesday and early Thursday. Those winds knocked down trees and caused some power outages.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma says initially about 4,500 Tulsa area customers were without power, due to the winds, but that number has since been reduced to just over 100 customers.

In Sand Springs, a mobile home in the 800 block of West 10th Street was damaged late Wednesday when a tree fell into the home. Three people were inside at the time. The homeowner said one person suffered a minor injury to her head.

Nearby, a tree fell down at 11th and Franklin, blocking the street.

OG&E is reporting a number of its customers are still without power Thursday. Almost all of those outages are around the Oklahoma City area.

Heavy rains from storms across south central Oklahoma have led to the closing of a highway in Hughes County. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says Highway 48 north of Highway 9 was closed due to high water.
