Falling oil prices have hit companies hard within the past year, and those effects will likely be felt quite some time.
According to RegionTrack the Oklahoma energy sector could see up to a total of 11,000 jobs cut by the end of the year. Which includes the state’s already 8,400 job cuts suffered from December through May.
The Journal Record also states that RegionTrack predicts this year Oklahoma crude oil producers may suffer a 38.1% drop in revenue. Which, according to the Journal Record, would be down from a record $11.4 billion last year.
