The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a McAlester man is in the hospital after crashing his vehicle on a Pittsburg County highway Wednesday night.

Troopers said the driver, Christopher Woodall, 25, was eastbound about three miles west of Arpelar when he opened the driver's side door to throw up and lost control of his 2005 Chrysler.  They said the vehicle ran off the road, struck a stop sign, then a ditch in the 10 p.m. crash.

The OHP says Woodall fell out of the vehicle while it was still moving.

Troopers said he was listed in stable condition at the McAlester hospital with injuries to his chest and arms.
