TULSA, Oklahoma -

The City of Tulsa is using public meetings, email and social media - including YouTube - to ask voters what they want to see happen in the city. Leaders are seeking public input on the expiring Vision 2015 funding that is planned to go before voters.

The deadline to submit a pitch is July 28.

So far ideas like river development to keep consistent water levels in the Arkansas River and public safety have been discussed. Council G.T. Bynum hopes the city will use half of the expiring Vision 2025 sales tax over the next 11 years to fund and maintain four dams in key points on the river.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett and councilors are holding four public meetings so residents can discuss those ideas and submit their own. Projects should focus on economic development and sales tax generation, connectivity and transportation choices, health, education and safety, a news release from the city states.

The City wants people to use social media sites they've set up for Vision 20215 ideas and to use the hashtag #VisionTulsa in their submissions. You can even make your own video and upload to YouTube.
