Cooler Temps, More Rain Expected In Eastern Oklahoma

TULSA, Oklahoma -

As of Tuesday afternoon, a heavy swath of rain continued to fall along and just north of the Interstate 40 corridor in eastern Oklahoma where 1" to locally 4" of rain has already fallen.

Flash Flood Warnings are up for this area through at least this evening.

In addition, a Flash Flood Watch is up for all but the most southeastern areas of the viewing area through Wednesday evening.  Another broad area of moderate to locally heavy rain is expected to move into the area by late afternoon, centering along a stalled out frontal boundary in Green Country.

This could bring another 1" to locally 4" of rainfall to much of our region through Wednesday midday.  The greatest risk of flash flooding will be tonight into early Wednesday with the highest storm totals along and south of I-44.

Rain should gradually taper off to scattered showers by Wednesday afternoon.  The final round of rain may come Thursday morning for our northern viewing area before sunshine and heat build back in for the rest of the week.
