SAPULPA, Oklahoma -

Sapulpa Fire is investigating after a home went up in flames early Saturday morning. Authorities say when they arrived at the home near Interstate 44 and Highway 97, flames were shooting from the back of the house.

Firefighters did a quick interior search of the home for victims but then continued to fight it from the outside after someone told them there might be methamphetamine activity inside the house.

"We immediately went to defensive operations, and we are currently investigating to see if we can find the cause and determination of the fire," said D.J. Keizor.

Witnesses say they were surprised.

"I didn't pay no attention to it at first, then they started hollering 'the house is on fire, the house is on fire,' and I was like 'what?'" said witness Logan Noel.

Keizor said they would look for any meth lab indicators, and if they find any, call in police. Indicators would be objects like two-liter bottles, tubing and small stoves.
