Earthquake Felt Through Large Part Of Oklahoma

TULSA, Oklahoma -

A long-lasting earthquake made itself felt in both the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro area Monday afternoon.

News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone said the preliminary report shows the earthquake measured at 4.4 and was recorded at 3:19 p.m.

Its epicenter was reported about nine miles east, northeast of Cherokee, 32 miles north, northwest of Enid, 61 miles west of Ponca City and 99 miles north, northwest of Oklahoma City, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

There was also a report of power flickering during the event.

 A 3.2-magnitude earthquake was reported less than an hour later in Pawnee County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake was reported about 3:50 p.m. Monday, and its epicenter was reported about four miles west, northwest of Pawnee, 19 miles north, northeast of Stillwater, 45 miles northeast of Guthrie and 71 miles north, northeast of Oklahoma City, according to U.S. Geological Survey reports.

Shortly before 3:55 p.m., a 4.0-magnitude earthquake shook nearby the earlier earthquake in Alfalfa County, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The earthquake's epicenter was reported about 10 miles northeast of Cherokee, 35 miles north, northwest of Enid, 62 miles west of Ponca City and 101 miles north, northwest of Oklahoma City, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

All three earthquakes were about 3 miles deep.

No immediate reports of injury or damage were reported from the three earthquakes.
