Two robbers beat and stole from a good Samaritan near Stillwater.

Authorities say the suspects made it look like they had a broken down car and needed help.

Police said a Chesapeake Energy employee was driving on Peach Road near Interstate 35 and Highway 51 when he pulled over to help a driver.

The Payne County Sheriff Office said two men jumped the good Samaritan, beat him and taped his mouth, eyes and hands.

“I pulled up to help some people on the side of the road and they pulled a gun on me,” Garratt Briggs said in a 911 call Monday.

The oil and gas worker was returning from a job site when he noticed a maroon or purple colored '90s Grand Am or Grand Prix with Texas plates and its hood popped up.

Investigators said one man flagged Briggs down and appeared to have car troubles.

When Briggs got of out of his work pickup, police said two men jumped him.

“When I wouldn’t give them my wallet, I believe they hit me with one of my crescent wrenches and taped up my eyes, hands and feet,” Briggs said during the 911 call.

The suspects got that wallet, along with a watch and wedding ring.

They also dumped the Briggs' cellphone close enough to the Chesapeake pickup that Briggs, who was still bound, was able to use Bluetooth to call 911.

Police said one of the suspects has a scorpion tattoo on his right forearm.
