TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Police arrested a woman wanted in connection with a murder Wednesday morning.

Police arrested Sarah Helton, 32, when her SUV hit a sign in front Premier Popcorn, where Tom Phillips was working, near 33rd and Harvard during a chase.

“We heard it coming down the street, we weren't sure what it was because we couldn't see it,” he said.

Three people have been arrested, connected to one murder - the shooter, his father accused of helping him hide out and a woman that led officers on a five-mile, high-speed chase down Harvard Avenue.

The jeep being chased by police was running on one flat tire, and another one was down to the rim. It went across traffic and into a sign pole, just steps from the Premier Popcorn window.

"At that point she was trying to get out the driver’s side, but her door was blocked by the pole. So she jumped over to the passenger side and got out that way, but the police were here right away and they grabbed her immediately after she got out of the car," Phillips said.

Police arrested 32-year-old Sarah Helton as an accessory to a murder. Officers said she was there July 5th, on Woodrow Place, when Craig Wingard was shot.

According to police, William Campbell, 17, shot Wingard on July 5 when Wingard went to Campbell's home on Woodrow Place near Harvard looking for items that had been stolen from him. Wingard died on July 8.

Police arrested Campbell at a west Tulsa convenience store on July 16. They wanted Helton for being an accomplice because they said he left with her after shooting Wingard.

Wednesday's chase began when officers saw Helton driving on Pine. They said she hit speeds of at least 80 miles per hour as she headed south on Harvard.

Officers used stop sticks which they said flattened the tires on the right side of the Jeep.

“First I noticed all this black stuff flying, and then that vehicle ran right up on me and if I hadn't gotten out of the way, I'd have been clobbered,” said witness Kandy Washington.

The jeep hit a couple of cars at 15th and Harvard, but officers said two flat tires were slowing down the suspect, so they stayed behind her.

"It couldn't be avoided, and with a desperate homicide suspect, we wanted to do everything we could to get her into custody, and nobody was hurt, so that's the good thing," said TPD Captain Steve Odom.

Campbell is charged with 1st-degree murder and feloniously pointing a firearm. Helton is charged with accessory after the fact.

Tulsa Police also arrested William Campbell's father, Jeremy Campbell for accessory to murder after the murder.

Tulsa Police Sergeant, Dave Walker, said he provided aid to his son and Helton after being informed they were wanted for murder. According to the Tulsa County jail, he is being held on a $500,000 bond.

Police said they don’t expect any more arrests in the murder.
