A little girl in Norman has so many allergies she is basically allergic to life.

Yssabelle “Yzzy” Eddlemon, 6, is even allergic to emotions. Now, her family is seeking out special treatment that insurance will not cover and they are raising money for the journey.

Chili’s in Norman will donate 15% of proceeds for Tuesday, July 28, if diners mention Yzzy’s name.

Yzzy cannot laugh too much or she could go into anaphylactic shock.

“It's crazy, like literally she'll laugh too much and her throat will close,” said Mikal Mowdy, Yzzy’s mother.

Yzzy is allergic to most everyday things.

“Like heat, emotions, cold,” added Mowdy.

Yzzy has a rare disease called Systemic Mastocytosis. The condition basically means Yzzy has an over-abundance of mast cells that cause allergic reactions to even the chemicals your body releases when you are happy, sad or mad.

“It's so hard for her to live and be a kid and she's had to grow up so fast,” Mowdy told News 9. “She'll get veiny and then her cheeks will get really red and that's when her hives start to flare.”

Yzzy has pigmented hives on her skin and even inside her GI tract.

“If she would eat, she'd eat like a handful of cheerios and her stomach would just balloon, she'd look nine months pregnant,” Mowdy said.

Yzzy has been in the hospital 32 times over the last year and has had 18 anaphylactic reactions. She is homeschooled now because she was missing too much public school due to the hospitalizations.

At one point, Yzzy was on 24 medications and taking more than 30 pills a day. Her current doctor said the next option is chemotherapy. which Mowdy did not like for her daughter.

Mowdy found another specialist in California, but Yzz’s insurance will not cover that particular doctor.

Mowdy is now raising money to pay for Yzzy’s treatment out of pocket.

“It's one of the hardest things to see your kid be sick and not be able to help,” Mowdy sobbed.

The family leaves for California on August 9.
