OKLAHOMA CITY - The MACU women's basketball schedule for the 2015-16 season has been released and is set to begin on Nov. 6-7 with a pair of games in Kansas at the Sterling College Classic.

The Lady Evangels, under the guidance of first-year head coach Seth Froese, will face Tabor College on Nov. 6 and will then square off with tournament host Sterling on Nov. 7.

MACU will open its home schedule on Nov. 14 against Huston-Tillotson before turning around and hosting Langston University on Nov. 19 inside the Gaulke Activity Center.

The Lady Evangels have an exhibition contest at NCAA D-II member Central Oklahoma on Nov. 30 and will open up the Sooner Athletic Conference season at Texas Wesleyan  University on Dec. 5 in Ft. Worth, Texas.

After serving the past two years as assistant coach on former head coach and current MACU Athletic Director Marcus Moeller's staff, Froese is ready to take the reins and has the Lady Evangels primed for the upcoming season.

“I am extremely pleased with the challenges that our schedule presents," Froese said.  "We play seven national tournament teams from last season along with an exhibition game versus a strong NCAA D-II team from an extremely tough conference. With most of those games coming on the road, I think that it gives us a great opportunity to achieve our goal of developing into the strongest team that we can be by tournament time.  Although I wish we could play a few more home games, I am pleased that we are going to have the opportunity to test ourselves before entering the SAC conference schedule, which is always tough.”

The Lady Evangels are coming off consecutive winning seasons for the first time as a program since joining the NAIA in 2007.
