Heavy metal band Iron Maiden has selected Tulsa as one of only nine U.S. cities where it will make a stop on its "The Book of Souls" World Tour.

The band will perform at the BOK Center on Friday, February 26, 2016.

Tickets for the show will range from $29.50 to $89.50. They go on sale on October 10, 2015.

Tulsa will be the second stop on the U.S. leg of the tour after Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. After Tulsa the band will make stops in Las Vegas, New York, Detroit, Chicago, Tacoma, Denver and Los Angeles.

“We cannot wait to get back out on tour. Maiden thrive on touring and getting out to our fans, it’s also what we enjoy the most. When we play in Fort Lauderdale it will be 19 months since our last show at Sonisphere in the UK so we will be raring to go," said lead singer Bruce Dickinson.

The band hasn't played in Tulsa since 1987.

Dickinson is an accomplished pilot and on this tour will be piloting a Boeing 747-400 jumbo jet called Ed Force One carrying the band, crew and production equipment. The jet is named after the band's mascot, Eddie, which began life as a papier-mache mask at some of the band's earliest shows and has morphed into a character featured in all of its merchandise and album art.

"On previous Ed Force One Tours we only had time to play New York, LA and Florida. For the world tour next year we’ve made more time in order to take Ed Force One to our fans in many more parts of the country, like Tulsa where we haven’t played since 1987 on the Somewhere In Time Tour and Tacoma where we haven’t played in 15 years, along with Vegas, Detroit, Chicago and Denver too this time round," Dickinson said.
