Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield wasn’t invited to the Heisman ceremony in New York, but he did finish fourth overall in the voting with 334 total points.
Henry became the second Heisman Trophy winner in Alabama history, and the running back racked up 1,832 total points. Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey finished second with 1,539 points and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson was third with 1,165 points.
There was much debate about whether Mayfield should’ve at least been invited to the ceremonies in New York, but his 334 total points were a large drop off from the top three vote getters.
Mayfield has played with a chip on his shoulder throughout his entire career, and it’ll be interesting to see if he makes voters regret their decision by the time the college football playoff is said and done.
