Sequoyah County deputies arrested a driver who they saved Friday morning during a swift-water rescue south of Sallisaw.

Sheriff Ron Lockhart told KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the man was uninjured when he was pulled from his Jeep at about 11:15 a.m.

He says the unidentified man was then arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Lockhart said they got a call about a Jeep that had been swept from a low-water bridge on Drake Road.  Deputies and firefighters arrived and pulled the man to safety.

He said the road has been flooded since late December.
