Sand Springs Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened early Saturday morning. The victim has been identified as Jason Emarthlee Waquie, 38.
He was a Glenpool resident, according to Sand Springs Chief of Police Mike Carter.
Police said they got a call about the shooting at about 2:45 a.m. in a home in the 200 block of Fairway Circle. They said three people were in the house at the time of the shooting.
Waquie had been shot once in the chest, and another man had injuries to his face which police said made it appear he'd been in a fight. A woman in the home was not hurt.
Paramedics took both men to the hospital where Waquie was pronounced dead.
Police said it appears all of the individuals knew each other and had been drinking. Carter said they are interviewing the woman and the second man to determine who was the aggressor and what exactly took place in the home.
No arrests have been made, he said. The medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.
Carter said the last homicide of this nature in Sand Springs was in 2010.
