Karl Torp couldn't be more excited to call the "Sooner State" home.

During his first week on the job, he saw the passion Oklahomans have to help one another in their darkest hour. A deadly tornado had just ripped through NW Oklahoma and volunteers, who had traveled hours, worked without sleep to help survivors who lost everything.

The awarding winning journalist grew up in the Northwest, but joins the News on 6 team after working for the CBS-FOX affiliate in Jacksonville, Fla.

Karl is a sports junkie, an OKC Thunder fan, and a recovering golf nut.  When he's not three-putting, you can find him on the tennis court, playing basketball or chasing his yellow lab Hilde down the street.
