Grey Snow Eagle House celebrated the 10th anniversary of its mission: protecting and rehabilitating eagles. The Iowa Tribe and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services opened the facility in 2006 in Perkins.

They held a banquet and silent auction to benefit the aviary.

Grey Snow Eagle House brings injured eagles from Oklahoma with the goal of releasing them back to the wild. If the injuries are too severe, the House provides a place for the eagles to have quality lives, their website states.

Staff also take trained raptors around the state to teach the public about the conservation of raptors and Native American beliefs. They work with Oklahoma State University toward the conservation of eagle populations.

Dr. Paul Welch, a Tulsa veterinarian who appears on Six in the Morning most Fridays, works to rehab the eagles from injuries caused by gunshots, broken bones and other issues.
