Tulsa police say a traffic stop led them to arrest a motel clerk for selling drugs. Four people in all were taken into custody after an officer stopped a driver near 31st and Memorial at 1:40 a.m. Monday.
Police say they pulled over Lucas Shoemaker for a traffic violation and could smell marijuana in the car. They say the passenger in the car was making "noticeable noises with his mouth" and admitted he was eating a bag of marijuana.
Officers say that man, Eugene Deverges, still had the drug in his mouth. He also had a syringe containing heroin in a pocket, according to an arrest report.
The 23-year-old Deverges and 22-year-old Shoemaker were booked on drug-related complaints.
Their arrests led police to the Days Inn at 3200 South 79th East Avenue where officers say they discovered marijuana, methamphetamine and crack cocaine.
Police arrested the clerk, Rarue Caddy, for possession of drugs with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia - all after former felony conviction.
They also arrested a woman who was in the lobby with Caddy, 33. Officers say Kasi Albert resisted arrest and struck an officer with her leg while they were handcuffing her.
Albert, 30, was arrested on complaints including drug possession with intent to distribute, resisting arrest and assault and battery on an officer. She also has former felony convictions, records show.
All four were booked into the Tulsa County jail.
