Alan Crone Weather Blog: Warming Up Today And A Late Week System

The upper air flow will quickly bring another disturbance into the area Monday night into Tuesday and then again late this week into the weekend. The first system will move across the area with little to no moisture to work with while the 2nd one will more than likely encounter enough moisture to generate precipitation Friday into Saturday.

Temperatures will be maxed out today with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s along with sunshine and a return of south winds later this morning.   Patchy fog is possible again this morning for a few hours.

The compact upper level low that brought the storms to the state yesterday is well east of our area this morning.  It was responsible for some healthy rainfall totals yesterday and some strong to severe storms across southeastern OK. Several tornado warnings eventually were issued yesterday across part of Arkansas as the powerful low influenced those areas.

Our forecast looks good for most of the week, and this will be good news for the spring-breakers. Temperatures will be warm today with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s.   The patchy fog will remain for the early morning hours. The next front quickly moves across the area tomorrow morning but with no precipitation.   Winds tomorrow will be from the northwest at 15 to 30 mph.

The air-flow tomorrow will allow highs tomorrow in the mid-70s with low humidity during the afternoon. This means the fire danger Tuesday afternoon may be elevated to critically high in some locations despite yesterday’s rainfall.

Temperature Wednesday and Thursday morning will start in the upper 30s and lower 40s with highs in the upper or mid-60s both days along with mostly sunny conditions.

Friday into Saturday the next upper level trough will begin influencing the region with increasing rain chances.   The exact trajectory of the system continues to flip around in the data.   This has been the case for many days.   We’ll continue with our current forecast of increasing rain chances by Friday evening and lasting through at least Saturday morning to midday.

Friday temperatures will depend upon the exact start time of the precipitation, but at this point, we’ll stick with highs in the mid-50s.

The temperatures regarding morning lows will be in the mid to upper 30s this weekend with Saturday highs in the mid-50s and Sunday near 60.

Thanks for reading the Monday morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day.
