TULSA, Oklahoma -

Well, there’s an old wives tale that says if it rains on Easter, then it will rain for the next seven Sundays. I guess Green Country better get ready for several rainy Sundays!

We had showers this morning but things should improve for the afternoon and evening. Rain and clouds will move east of Tulsa by lunch time today and then the afternoon will be filled with sunshine and cool air. Northwest wind gusts around 25 are possible through the morning and then winds should lighten up as the day goes on.

Northwest winds today with clouds and rain helping keep us cool, but tonight it gets downright cold. Morning lows near freezing for Monday and a freeze warning has been issued for most Green Country counties.

If you have any plants you are concerned about, bring them inside or cover them up. Also please do not forget about outdoor pets. Tonight we will have mostly clear skies and light winds allowing for temperatures to reach that freezing mark in most locations.

Conditions will warm up for the first half of the week as we return to a southeast wind, and we should see plenty of sunshine. With the warm up, comes another threat for fire danger for Monday and Tuesday.

The threat on Wednesday turns into spring storms. An approaching cool front and dry line set up will push storm chances into eastern Oklahoma. The atmosphere will be conducive for strong to severe storms.

There are several ways to stay weather aware this spring, one of those ways is with the News On 6 weather app. You have access to radar, the latest watches and warnings, as well as many other features.
