A body was found in a pickup truck in the Caney River. Friends of the family of a missing woman in Owasso say it may be her, but that has not been confirmed with Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers.

Law officers found one person dead inside a truck submerged in the Caney River. OHP said an off-duty Osage County deputy driving on Highway 75 spotted the pickup truck upside down in the river Saturday morning.

First responders spent the day trying to get the truck out of the water to figure out who was inside. Responders on the scene believe the person may have been driving north on Highway 75 towards Bartlesville when they went off the road and into the water below.

For hours Ochelata Fire, Washington County Emergency Management and three tow trucks worked to get the truck onto dry land.
The recovery work shut down one lane on each side of the highway causing some slow downs for drivers.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
