A judge refused to change the sentence Tuesday of a woman who pleaded guilty in the deaths of her nieces in an apartment fire in 2013.

Miashah Moses pleaded guilty on April 27, 2016 and the judge sentenced her to 10 years in prison and five years probation.

Her 2- and 5-year-old nieces were staying with Moses at the London Square Apartments when the apartment went up in flames in 2013.

Investigators said the fire was caused by unattended food cooking on the stove.

The mother of the two girls told News On 6 the family did not want Miashah Moses to serve time in the deaths, saying it was an accident.

On Tuesday the judge disagreed and denied Moses' motion for an amended sentence.
