TU Expands Beer Sales At Football Games This Season

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

The University of Tulsa will expand the sale of beer to fans at the school's football stadium this season.

According to news release, the school says beer sales will be allowed for fans in H. A. Chapman Stadium's general seating areas.

The university’s Board of Trustees recently approved the measure.

“The addition of beer sales inside the stadium will add another element to our game day fan experience and be an additional revenue source for our department. The University has studied the idea for more than a year and we have seen from our peers around the country that when done responsibly, beer sales can be a positive experience,” said Vice President & Director of Athletics Dr. Derrick Gragg.

Since 2008, beer has been sold in the Suite and Club areas of the stadium as well as outside the stadium gates.

“We have made beer sales available in our club area and suites for the past eight years, and felt that now is the right time for us to expand sales to the entire stadium,” added Gragg.

The school also announced it has also adopted a No Re-entry policy, falling in line with no re-entry policies that have been implemented at most college stadiums, including state schools Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Tulsa opens the 2016 football season with a home game against San Jose State on Saturday, September 3.
