Storm Chances Continue For Green Country

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

For the morning hours we have a 30 percent chance of showers - mainly north and northeast of Tulsa for the later morning. Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s for the noon hour. We should see some sunshine this afternoon as well as chances for afternoon storms.

A stationary boundary is sitting still to our south and will be the focal point for storms later today. The boundary will try to inch northward this evening but will not make any progress until later tonight. Highs today should be in the mid-90s with heat index values slightly above 100.

It will very warm and oppressively humid for folks around Interstate 40 and to the south. Heat advisories are in effect for those southeastern counties this afternoon and evening.

Tonight, the boundary should slowly move north, and we will see additional chances of showers and storms again Monday morning. Heavy rainfall can be expected with these storms. Mainly again from Tulsa to the north and northeast for Monday morning.

Some afternoon T-storms will be possible. We'll see mostly cloudy skies tomorrow with a 20 percent chance for showers and storms. Chances are lower for showers and storms during the middle of the week, but we could still see isolated showers and storms.

Highs will return to the upper 90s and triple digits for the rest of our work week. A cool front is scheduled for next weekend which will bring in rain chances and some not as hot temperatures.
