A resurfacing project will impact drivers at one of the busiest intersections in Broken Arrow beginning Tuesday.
The City of Broken Arrow says the first part of the $1.6 million Aspen resurfacing project between Kenosha and Houston is done and the contractor will now begin work on the Aspen and Kenosha intersection
Starting September 6, 2016 only a single lane of traffic in all four directions will be open through the intersection. The city says no left-hand turns will be permitted during construction, which is expected to be about 45 days.
Broken Arrow assistant city manager Kenny Schwab says more than 50,000 vehicles travel through the intersection every day. He says the city wants to complete the work before the holiday shopping season gets underway.
Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route, if possible, because the reduced traffic flow will cause delays.
