A father and son flying a small plane from Oklahoma City to Chicago made an emergency landing in Grove Friday, according to the Grove airport manager.

The two people in the Cessna 172 declared an emergency after they saw smoke in the cabin from an electrical fire .

Grove airport manager Lisa Jewett said at first the two people headed toward Miami Regional Airport but landed at Grove instead.

Neither person was hurt. They contacted a mechanic to find the problem with the airplane.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane is registered to Engineers Flying Club located in Bethany, Oklahoma.
