Tulsa Police Identify Man Shot, Killed By Officers

Tulsa Police identified the man shot and killed by officers on Sunday.

Police said the man was Ronald Massengale, 72. They identified his wife as Jacquelyn Massengale, 67.

Police got to the neighborhood near Charles Page Boulevard and South 49th West Avenue shortly after 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2016. They said Massengale came out of his home and pointed a gun at officers.

The department identified the officer who shot Massengale as Steve Dickson, 41. Dickson has been with the department since 1998. He's on leave while the shooting is investigated.

When police went inside Massengale's home, they found his wife's body. They also found three dead dogs and one injured dog. 

Massengale appeared to be the one responsible, police said. Police haven't said what led up to the incident. 

Neighbors tell News On 6 the two people were a loving couple.
