Caney River Continues To Rise

Posted: Updated:
COLLINSVILLE, Oklahoma -

Most area creek and river levels are dropping, and Bird Creek and the Verdigris River are both on their way down as well.

Caney River, northeast of Collinsville, is still rising.

Currently, it's considered minor flooding at 27 feet and it's pushed past its banks over roads and agricultural area.

That's from all the rain this past weekend.

By midday Friday, it's expected to reach moderate flood stage of 29 feet.

The Arkansas River at Muskogee is at "minor" flood stage now, and will likely stay that way through next week because of all the water releases.
