Tulsa Man Arrested On Complaints Of Assault And Battery

A man is in jail on an assault and battery complaint after witnesses said he used an SUV to ram a car before assaulting people.

Police said it was just after 5:00 Tuesday evening when they responded to the Casa Linda Apartments near 61st and Peoria.

When they arrived, a woman told police she went outside after hearing a loud noise and said she saw a man in a white SUV had crashed into her vehicle and was trying to leave.

The woman told police her husband went outside and called 911.

The man told police he saw the suspect, 23-year-old Dewaylan Taylor, yelling at everyone, and when he tried to call police, he said Taylor charged him.

Police said the woman told them Taylor then walked east on 62nd Street but returned and assaulted her.

Police said they reviewed surveillance video that supported both victims’ story. They said Taylor crashed into a white vehicle and destroyed a cinder block wall.

They said Taylor appeared to be speeding and later admitted to drinking.

Police said the woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
