Second City Of Tulsa Public CNG Station Set To Open

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

The City of Tulsa is scheduled to open its second public Compressed Natural Gas fueling station Thursday morning.

The station located at 7932 East 33rd Street was approved by voters through the 2014 "Improve Our Tulsa Sales Tax" package and cost $1.8-million.

The CNG station will also provide fuel for Tulsa's CNG fleet vehicles and Tulsa Transit buses, but anyone can use it for a CNG vehicle.

The City has had success with converting it's fleet to natural gas, saving money mainly because of the cost - $1.62 for the gallon equivalent of natural gas.

The first City of Tulsa public Compressed Natural Gas station opened in west Tulsa at 428 West 23rd Street in September 2012.
