Small Earthquake Reported In Payne County

An earthquake was recorded early Tuesday in Payne County, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The 3.1-magnitude earthquake was reported shortly before 4:45 a.m. Its epicenter was about two miles southeast of Amabel, 16 miles east, southeast of Stillwater and 53 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. 

It was less than four miles deep.

No immediate reports of damage or injuries were reported.
