Video Shown On Day 6 Of Rogers County Brothers' Murder Trial

Posted: Updated:

The murder trial continued Monday for two Rogers County brothers accused of a deadly hit-and-run that killed one girl and seriously injured another.

Monday, September 25 marked day six of the trial, and video was shown of Dakota Shriver the morning after he and his brother, Gage, are accused of hitting and killing 18-year-old Noelle New and injuring Maranda Talley.

Dakota's original story had him home playing video games with his brother that early morning in 2015.  He said they were heading to QuikTrip with their mom hours later when they saw Maranda and Noelle on the side of the road when they stopped to help.

Dakota said Maranda kept saying she drank too much and didn't know what had happened.

Later in the video, an investigator advised Dakota that he was being detained and that's when his whole story changed. Investigators told him his mother had made a statement that they came home and told her they had been in a wreck.

Dakota then asked what kind of charges he could face and said, "even if it was an accident, in the court's eyes, it is not." He then said sometimes you have to bend the truth a little.

He was still claiming he didn't know they had hit the girls when they wrecked off the road because if he had, they would've called police right away.
