Officers Set On Fire During Burglary Call

A woman and two police officers in are set on fire during a break in.

The woman died and the two officers are in the hospital.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's office said a man broke into 65-year-old Sharon Horn's home just across the state line in Baxter Springs Kansas early Saturday morning and began assaulting her.

They say after officers arrived, the suspect threw fuel on Horn and the two officers and set them on fire.

A third officer who tried to help was also injured.
