Wagoner Business Offers Reward To Stop Local Vandalism

Posted: Updated:
WAGONER, Oklahoma -

Wagoner Police are searching for who is responsible for numerous broken windows over the past several months.

The vandal or vandals struck again Thursday night, damaging a business's door.

At one of several places that was damaged, wood has been put up to help repair a door.

Now, a $2,500 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever is doing this.

Overnight in Wagoner, vandals struck again. This time, hitting a local counseling business.

"We've had several of our businesses 5 or 6 of our local businesses and at least one church," said Wagoner Chief of Police Bob Haley.

The vandalism is costing hundreds of dollars in repairs. 10 to 12 windows have been broken so far and some businesses have been hit more than once. A frustrating situation for Police Chief Bob Haley.

"Were exercising resources that we could be utilizing in other areas," said Haley.

The Chief said that each window can cost anywhere from $500 to a $1,000 to fix and said those responsible could face heavy fines and possible jail time.

"Trying to prevent our business owners and the people that have a vested interest in here from having to spend money to replace or repair their property," said Haley.

Now a local business that was hit has stepped up and offered a reward to help police catch those destroying property and to help bring them to justice.

"One of our local businesses that has been a victim of this has offered a $2,500 reward," Haley said.

Anyone with information about these incidents should contact Wagoner Police Detective Ben Blair at (918) 485-5511.
