Hundreds of residents spent the weekend getting rid of old household items.
Tulsa's Household Pollutant Collection Facility wrapped up their disposal event Sunday.
Those at the facility say it's important to get rid of old chemicals and junk, so it doesn't end up in our streams.
"It gives residents an opportunity to dispose of that material in an environmentally safe manner. We don't want it in our streets. We don't really want it in our solid waste system. We don't want it being poured down the drain and end up in our waste water treatment plants," said City of Tulsa Operations Manager Scott Vanloo.
Over one thousands items were disposed of this weekend.
