Teacher Walkout Disappointing In Light Of Proposed Raise, Mullin Says

Representative Markwayne Mullin Representative Markwayne Mullin
TULSA, Oklahoma -

Oklahoma Congressman Markwayne Mullin stopped by News On 6 Thursday morning and told us he'd be disappointed if teachers still walk out on Monday.

"I think I would," Mullin said. "It's a 16 percent increase, pay increase. That's a lot for anybody. My sisters are teachers. My mom was a teacher - my aunts, they're educators.

"I've got five kids that are in the public school system. I want to make sure we support our teachers, but the teachers union can also play its hand a little too far when they're refusing to say 16 percent is enough."

You can watch his entire interview in the video attached to this story.
