New Park In Sand Springs Dedicated To Former City Manager

Posted: Updated:
SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -

A new garden park is now open in Sand Springs, dedicated to the life of a former city manager.

Sand Springs unveiled a memorial plaque and rose bush to honor Inez Kirk.

Kirk served as city manager for a decade before she died in 1986.

“To think after 32 years, people would remember her and speak so fondly of her and would be honoring her with this garden would just have humbled and amazed her,” said Kirk’s daughter Pat McConnell.

The park is at the corner of Broadway and McKinley in downtown Sand Springs.
