TULSA, Oklahoma - Police arrested a man following a stabbing at a Tulsa home early Monday morning.

Officers were called to the home near Independence and Quebec just before 4:15 a.m.

Police questioned several people at the house, including the victim's daughter. She told police she and the suspect, 36-year-old Joe Stack, were in a bedroom of the house when her father walked in.

"The victim had asked the suspect to leave the residence when a verbal argument happened, which turned into the victim being stabbed with a knife," Sergeant Brett Bilyeau said.

EMSA took the victim to the hospital but police said he is expected to be okay.

Officers said alcohol played a big role in the stabbing, and that it created challenges in their investigation.

"Some of the people in there are so intoxicated that it's hard to get out the true facts of what happened," Bilyeau said.

Police said Stack was arrested on a complaint of assault with a dangerous weapon.
