Midwest City was not free from getting a large dose of rain Wednesday afternoon.
In a neighborhood near S. Post Road and Reno Avenue, so much rain fell that the ground in some areas became so soft and saturated that trees began to fall.
We spoke to resident Michele Gebhardt, who says she was folding clothes when a large tree crashed into her home.
She and her children survived the ordeal uninjured.
“I have a crack going through my ceiling where water is just pouring down, and the branches came through the attic, and over the bathroom, and over my neighbors fencing. There’s like four rafters broken right now,” Gebhardt said.
The Red Cross was on scene Wednesday night to assist in any way they could, but for now these residents have a long road of renovation and repair ahead of them.
