TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa's Gathering Place opens to the public on Saturday, September 8th, and many have asked about food in the park - wondering if you can bring in your own food for a picnic.

The answer is a qualified yes. Gathering Place does allow people to bring their own food and drink as well as folding chairs and a blanket. But officials say you cannot bring glass bottles or outside alcohol inside the park.

Gathering Place says there are three restaurants inside the park.

  • Vista at the Boathouse, with a beautiful overlook view of Peggy's Pond.
  • Patio at Williams Lodge, with quick service dining in an outdoor setting.
  • Redbud Cafe, on the lower floor of the Lodge, which offers sweet treats, gelato, and coffee.

For the opening and at peak events, there will also be food carts and food trucks at various locations around Gathering Place.

So while you can bring in outside food, the park believes they have offerings for every price range if dining inside the park.
