A business located on Route 66 in Tulsa hopes to install a huge piece of art related to the road's rich history.

Buck Atom's Cosmic Curios says it plans to install a 20-foot tall Space Cowboy Muffler Man outside the shop. The shop says the city of Tulsa has issued a permit for the sculpture.

Owner Mary Beth Babcock says she's in the process of raising another $13,000 to finish the construction but she says the artist has enough to get started.

The huge sculpture will be made out of fiberglass.

The first "muffler man" was a Paul Bunyan holding a huge axe that was placed outside the Paul Bunyan Cafe in Flagstaff, Arizona in 1962. They became popular roadside attractions along Route 66 and around the country over the years.
